Let’s not [high] waist anytime and just jump into this weeks How To… HIGH-WAISTED DENIM…

So, you are afraid of the CT (camel toe) and therefore you won’t wear high-rise/high-waisted denim.  You think you are too short and it makes your body look too stubby.  Your hips don’t lie and so you don’t want to accentuate that part of your body.  At one point your mother wore high-waisted denim and you can’t get that mental image out of your mind.  Any other excuse ________________ (fill in the blank)..

Dress Like a Mom with Evereve

    Guilty as charged!

I #dresslikeamom.  I am a mom.  And I love being a mom and getting to dress like a mom- especially with EVEREVE.

Now, lets address that frumpy disheveled image you have in your mind of moms; lets address the image of baggy sweatpants, ripped and stained t-shirts and worn out sneakers; lets address the image  of puffy eyes, messy hair and no jewelry….

NOW GET RID OF ALL OF THAT.  GET RID OF THOSE IMAGES.  GET RID OF THAT STEREOTYPE.

Instead lets focus on the fact that dressing like a mom is fun, flirty, casual, sleek, easy, fashionable, comfortable, stylish and accessible. You deserve all of this and more.  You deserve to show off your style, to dominate your life and to express yourself.  Too often, as mothers, we take care of every one else above ourselves, we ensure our children and spouse are looking great yet we fail to spend the time for ourselves.  WHY????  I have heard all the excuses and I call your BS…

I mean I get it, I am a mom.  Some days it takes all of my energy to put on sweatpants so by no means am I saying never wear sweatpants (but let’s make them cute ones!)… #beserious.  And by no means I am saying that everyday you should be full faced made-up and perfectly styled…. #beserious.  BUT I am saying you deserve to look fabulous and you deserve to feel fabulous.  Personally, on the days I get up and get dressed (even in jeans and a basic tee) I tend to accomplish a lot more, I feel better about my life and I am all around happier.  Dressing like a mom has taken on a new concept in my house.  It means I am ready to face the day, I am excited about life and I am happy to be a mom- so I want to dress like one.

Before I talk about these fabulous finds from EVEREVE I want to share with you a little about this amazing service they offer.  A few of the reasons moms/women give for not having nice clothes are they have no time to shop, they don’t know how to style outfits or they don’t want to try things on in dressing rooms (nether do I ladies, dressing rooms and I are not friends).  Enter Trendsend!! It is exactly as the name entails- you can the latest TRENDS SENT to your door.  You sign up (no payment necessary), fill out a style inventory, a stylist pulls 6-8 pieces for you and then the clothes arrive at your door!  You get to try them on at home and decide what works and what doesn’t… if you love it keep it (and they charge your card)… if you hate it send it back with free shipping (no charge to your card).  It’s that easy!

In case you can not tell I am obsessed with distressed denim. Like obsessed.  Furthermore, I am loving Blank NYC this season and these distressed denim from EVEREVE are no exception.  These jeans are great quality but run large so order a size down.  This top… THIS TOP!! It has fall written all over it  The colors, the material, the neckline and the fit are perfect for any busy mom.  This baby will go with denim, shorts, white denim, skirts and even dress pants!  With pieces like these and the rest of their fall line up you can easily style and create the perfect mom look!!!

Over on Instastories I have been sharing some of my favorite fall looks from Evereve. and you don’t want to miss out on them!  So I have linked them below- happy shopping mama! Fall Fashion Finds: Booties Under $150

This September I decided to branch out a bit from my usual content. I had many requests for practical and useful styling advice and so each week throughout the month I will do a Fall Fashion Finds post.  These posts are intended to inspire and provide quick and easy advice.  I hope you find it helpful… and if there is something specific you want to see let me know.  My goal is always to deliver meaningful and useful content.

Any fashionista knows that booties are an absolute must have this fall season.  Throwing on a cute bootie can take a boring t-shirt and jeans to stylish outfit wearable for any occasion.  They are the most versatile shoe and a main staple in a well equipped fall closet. While I do tend to splurge on my shoes you do not need to spend a fortune to keep your look updated and trendy. All of the booties here are under $150 and many are under $100.

Click on any product you like for shopping details- all the pictures are linked!

    shop: one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight // nine // ten
    a few tips on purchasing:

Most of these run TTS (true to size) however I have found that Sam Edelman run a bit narrow so order one size up.  Also, Sorels and Sperrys only come in whole sizes so order one size up as you would normally wear a thicker sock with these types of boots,  Also,  most of what is linked is from Zappos and Nordstrom as both stores have great, if not free, shipping rates and shipping times.  Furthermore, both offer free returns.

    Bootie Breakdown:

This season I am loving the flat/low heels as I am finding it more realistic and practical for life.  They are easy to throw on with denim, skirts, dresses or even shorts (f your location is summer year round).  So many of the styles also incorporate perforation which adds the best detailing and change to a simple bootie.

Here are a few of my favorite flat/low heel booties

Adding a block heel bootie to your closet is a must; especially if you are a working lady!  They are classic, clean, sophisticated and trendy. I love how easy they are to transition from day to night and how a block heel elevates a normal outfit to classy and elegant.

Here are my favorite block heel booties

As a mountain mama and Colorado native I tend to gravitate towards weather friendly shoes.  I typically buy a new pair of boots for the winter season and this year is no different.  Below are great picks for warm and dry feet all season long!

A few weather friendly bootie finds

Whether you are more casual or like to dress up, booties are perfect for you.  They are essential for the mom on-the-go or the busy professional lady.  I love so many of these and my shopping cart keeps getting filled up.  These picks are just the tip of the iceberg so let me know if you find some you love- I get so excited about new finds!!

Let me know what you want to see next week!!!

    With love,

The Landscape of Life with Easy and Versatile Pieces

Is it because I am getting older?  Is it because I live in London?  Or is it because I have finally stepped outside of myself that I have noticed just how amazing the world around me is.  No matter the reason I love the change!  This post is really about how easy versatile pieces can be incorporated  into your wardrobe but we did this shoot in Notting Hill where I was immediately inspired to address my love for the landscape of my life! I, literally mean, my everyday surroundings.  Every time I leave the house I am mesmerized by how beautiful the same common I walk through daily (sometimes three or four times daily) is or just how gorgeous my high street is.  Upon entering a new neighborhood I am in awe of the scenery- the cute little cafe, the sweet children’s store, the beautiful cathedral… just everyday things.
